Bourton Roadrunners
Angels 10km
A NUMBER of Bourton Roadrunners finished their London Marathon preparations at the Angels 10k.
Mike Smith, back to racing and looking fit, took on the tough course from the start and surprised himself with a fast 36min 38sec to finish second overall.
Tony 'almost 60' Goodwill was next in with a steady 43.11 for third MV55.
Rowena Verity continues to impress with a very quick 43.43 for first FV50. Equally impressive was Ali Lane who remains unbeaten as first FV55 in 47.14. Graham Lane had another solid run in 50.53 as third MV55.
Evergreen Gill Carrick enjoyed her run as second FV55 in 52.44. Not far behind was Linda Edwards in 54.33 as she continues to prepare for her first marathon. Last in, but by no means least, was Lynn Hudson, who had a scare after finishing in 1:02.24 but happily made a quick recovery.
Brighton Marathon
STEVE EDWARDS enjoyed another day in the office, completing the Brighton Marathon in a quick time of 3:15.35.
Although a bit disappointed not to clock up yet another sub-3:15, he did say he would have accepted that time at the start of his 724th marathon.
