DANNY KENT endured a short and disappointing race at the fourth round of the Moto2 world championship in Spain.
Tetbury's Kent, who was demoted a grid place to 16th during qualifying, was hampered by traffic and lost control of his Kalex on the fifth lap before being forced to retire.
There was a double DNF (did not finish) for Leopard Racing as teammate Miguel Oliveira also crashed out when in a promising sixth place.
Kent said: “Another bad weekend. Out of five of us in Leopard, four crashed.
"Big apology to the team as this is not what we want, but I was able to make some steps forward.
"We have a week and a half to go back home and work hard on my fitness and come back for Le Mans.
"We’re not so far way, it’s just small things we need to improve. In Moto2, where everything is so close, if you’re 0.3sec off you're outside the top 10.”
