OAKSEY Park Golf Club’s charity pro-am tournament with a twist proved highly successful in spite of some indifferent weather.
Over the weekend 18 Oaksey amateurs took part, each drawing a professional playing at The Masters in Augusta as their 'partner'.
The best net score from either player counted on each hole and prizes were awarded for the best scores on both Saturday and Sunday.
As at Augusta, British pros featured prominently on the Oaksey leaderboard.
Saturday's winner was M McGregor, ably assisted from afar by Justin Rose; Sunday's winner M Masters with help from Rory McIlory.
Saturday: -13 M McGregor (Justin Rose); -11 K O’Malley (Soren Kjeldsen); -8 G Kerboul (Angel Cabrera).
Sunday: -16 M Masters (Rory McIlroy); -14 J Cater (Danny Willett); -14 D Hammersley (I Poulter).
Funds raised will be donated to Paternoster House in Cirencester and, in a novel twist to charitable beneficence, the six prizes were bought from charity shops Dorothy House and Cancer Research in Malmesbury.
Get practising – Oaksey Park GC will be repeating this competition in July in parallel with the Open.
