NATIONAL Superstock 600 rider Jordan Weaving had a mixed weekend at the season opener when he salvaged a top-10 finish.
The Russo Racing rider had a strong start to the weekend, qualifying on the front row of the grid at the sweeping Silverstone circuit.
The 18-year-old former Cirencester Deer Park student from Woodchester was headed for a podium spot until his Pirelli tyres caused him issues in the closing five laps.
Despite this setback Weaving was able to cross the line in 10th.
"Unfortunately, the race was really upsetting," said Jordan. "I got a really good start and was running comfortably in a podium position, waiting for the right moment to start making progress forward.
"Sadly, with five laps to go the rear tyre was almost down to the wires. I had to ride with it and just got the best finishing position possible.
"But some points are better than no points so we will take that and move on to the next one."
