SOUTH CERNEY assistant pro Liam O'Sullivan missed out by a single shot in the second round of the West Region Sprint Series over the Blue and Red nines at Cumberwell Park Golf Club.
O'Sullivan, who gained his maiden win as a PGA professional in February, shot 68 which left him trailing only former South Cerney man Ross Langdon (Brickhampton Court) and Chipping Sodbury’s Giuseppe Licata, who hit 67s.
The pair have dominated the Gloucester and Somerset Order of Merit this winter with Langdon holding the edge. This time they could not be separated and are now joint-leaders in the four-event Sprint OoM with 135 points.
Gregory Davies (Basset Down) was the only other player to break par with 70.
