STRATTON YOUTH FC ROUND-UP

Stratton Youth U16s 0 Stanley Park U16s 1

THE Stratton U16s were denied a deserved point at home to Stanley Park as they conceded the only goal of the game in the last minute.

The visitors have been league champions for the last three years but were made to look very ordinary by Stratton who controlled the game for long periods. The pace of defenders Tom Price, Louie Jackson and Mike McCarten ensured Stanley Park had few chances until the final minute when a long clearance caught out the Stratton defence and the lone forward was able to stab the ball past Meichal Wright.

Earlier, Tom Chisholm had Stratton's best chance of the first half when he made a surging run from his full back position and was played in by Jack Sheridan only for his shot to go went wide.

In the second half, Jethro Kingsley was played through by Joe Speak and lifted his shot over the goalkeeper but over the bar as well.

Marlborough U15s 1

Stratton Youth U15s 8

STRATTON went top of the table with this brilliant all-round team performance, driven on by man-of-the-match Jacob Simmonds.

Stratton rattled in goals at frequent intervals through Tyree Philipson (two), Jack Tysom (two), Ayden Clark, Joe Shepherd, Jamie Witt and Morgan Fouracres.

Avonvale U18s 4

Stratton Youth U18s 2

WITH a team of only nine players this was always going to be a difficult task for Stratton U18s and it was made harder when Avonvale scored via a wind-assisted goal after three minutes.

Michael White levelled halfway through the first period when he was first to react to an error by the keeper.

Avonvale took the lead again on 25 minutes and then added a third five minutes before the break.

Stratton again played some great stuff in the second half, hardly looking as if they were two men down.

But Avonvale made it 4-1 10 minutes into the half, courtesy of a lucky deflection.

Stratton kept plugging away and the team spirit really showed when James Pitt finished a great passing move into the bottom left corner from 20 yards.

As the Stratton lads tired on the boggy pitch, Avonvale created a few more chances, but Stratton remained resolute and were unlucky not to come away with a point.

MoM: Everyone.

Stratton Youth U13s 1

Lydiard Youth (black) U13s 1

WITH both teams creating chances but spurning them, the score remained 0-0 at half-time.

Stratton started the second half the stronger and when stand-in goalkeeper Harry Dyer delivered a goal kick up field, Josh Littler-Jennings slotted home.

Lydiard then started to pressurise the home defence but they stood strong until eight minutes from the end when Jacob Jackson scored a stunning goal from the edge of the box.

Stratton MoM: Charlie Grace.

STRATTON'S mini section saw three games played at the paddock.

The U7s and U8s entertained Royal Wootton Bassett teams, while the U10s blue team gave Highworth a good game.

The other U10s were away to Highworth where Ryan Curtis-Fisher scored his first goal for the club, while Olly Potter, Jayden Stratford and Ryan Jacob were also on the score sheet.
