INTEL stretched their lead at the top of the M4 Karting Cirencester League Division One to eight points after a narrow 3-2 win at home to Wroughton Reserves, writes Phil Smith.

Matthew Gumm (two) and Zahn Jeffrey scored for Intel with Chris Hatter and Matt Horsell replying for the visitors.

South Cerney were denied the chance to close the gap when opponents Lechlade pulled out at the last minute due to a lack of players. Lechlade have 53 names signed on for two teams yet they have now pulled out of two games in succession.

Highworth's Development team moved up to third place after a good 4-2 win at Malmesbury Vics.

Poulton remain fourth after a hard-fought 1-1 draw with struggling CHQ United. Steve Andrews put Poulton ahead but were denied all three points when Matt Townsend scored in the last minute. Both teams finished with 10 men after two players were shown a red card in the second half.

In Division Two, leaders Siddington Vets were held 2-2 by South Cerney Reserves who became only the second team to take points off the Vets this season. A Jerome Dodson brace was cancelled out by two goals from George Ford of Cerney Reserves. This result was a good one for The Beeches after their 3-2 win at Blunsdon which left them a point behind the leaders with a game in hand. Matt Walters (two) and Tim Bond scored their goals.

Oaksey Reserves stay in second place after a 4-0 win over basement team Tetbury. Lechlade Reserves, who are supporting the Movember campaign (see pictures) and Sherston also recorded wins.

The match at Sherborne was called off due to snow while Stratton United’s match was postponed due their players opting to go on a jolly instead of playing.
