Malmesbury Vics U18s 4
FC Calne U18s 2
ALTHOUGH the scoreline reads like a comfortable victory for Malmesbury U18s they did all they could to make the tie difficult.
The Vics took the lead after ten minutes through Lewis King and James Hurcombe added a second in the 35th minute after a great run and cross from Ollie Evans.
But the visitors were twice allowed back into the game.
On 36 minutes, a defensive mix-up allowed Calne the easiest of chances to make it 2-1, and then on 67 minutes the game was level after a penalty award for handball.
Keeper Findlay got a hand to the spot kick but was unable to stop Calne equalising.
Three minutes later, man of the match Ryan Collins, impressing in a central midfield role, played Lewis Thomas through with only the keeper to beat and the striker duly obliged to put Malmesbury 3-2 ahead.
The game was put beyond doubt in the 85th minute when Hurcombe scored his second and Malmesbury's fourth.
