Marshfield U18s 1

Stratton Youth U18s 4

A SQUAD depleted by injuries was bolstered by three Stratton Youth U16 lads but the team were on fire from the first minute and were 1-0 up on three minutes, courtesy of Ashley Organ.

The match was played at a frenetic pace, yet the skill level remained high.

Both sides created chances but Stratton looked the more accomplished and went in 1-0 up at the break.

A few changes at half-time gave Stratton fresh legs on the uphill pitch.

Kyle Kent scored from the penalty spot on 60 minutes and he followed that up 10 minutes later with an unstoppable 25-yard thunderbolt. A goal of the season contender, for sure.

Michael Cook, one of the U16 players, then finished coolly after some great team approach play, 45 seconds after being sent on.

Marshfield grabbed a late consolation penalty which was no less than they deserved.

MoM: Joe Fell.

Shrewton U16s 1

The U16s secured a comfortable 6-1 win at home to Shrewton.

Sam Brewster opened the scoring in the first minute with a neat finish then Jack Sheridan, Jethro Kingsley, Michael Cook and Casey Fallows all converted chances as Stratton cruised to a 5-0 lead at half-time.

Shrewton caught the home defence napping early in the second half to reduce the arrears but apart from this blip Mike McCarten and Oli Hopegood were dominant in the centre of defence.

Despite numerous chances, only Joe Speak could add to the score.

Jack Tysom soon followed up on five minutes.

Following good movement and control by the team, Alfie Jones scored Stratton's third on 10 minutes. Philipson continued to find good positions to score three more in the 15th, 26th and 29th minutes to take Stratton to 6-0 at the break.

The second half saw changes to the Stratton line-up, and a close game ensued as Swindon Youth applied more pressure and came close to scoring on several occasions, but Stratton’s defence managed to hold.

A goal on 80 minutes from MoM Philipson saw the match end 7-0.

Lydiard U14s 3

Stratton Youth U14s 5

TWO very competitive teams played end-to-end football, with Stratton coming out on top for a brilliant 5-3 away win.

Their success owed a lot to great defending from the new-look back four with Rob Percival getting MoM, and being pushed close by James Langhorn in goal.

There were also great performances from the strong midfield led by captain Sean Ponting.

Alfie Cook and Albert Chatterton got two goals apiece and Daniel Hemmings completed the scoring to securing a first league win.

Stratton Youth U13s 1

Abbeymead Colts U13s 5

STRATTON couldn’t have made a worse start with the visitors scoring three goals in the first five minutes.

Stratton did pull a goal back through Barney Kimber before Abbeymeads scored again just before half-time.

The second half was a more even contest before the visitors added a fifth just before the end.

Stratton's MoM: Harvey Biggs.

STRATTON Youth mini section saw the two U10 teams play away while the U7s & U8s were both at home.

The U7s saw Louis Kingsbury put his name on the list of scorers v Ferndale.

The U8s played an entertaining game with Purton.

The U10s were at Newbury where the home side played some good passing football, but Jayden Stratford scored twice for Stratton.

The U10s blue team put in a great team effort. All of them worked hard for each other and kept going through the whole game despite not having any subs on a warm Sunday morning.

There were two well taken goals from Joe Lovell, which saw him pick up the MoM award.
