THE Cherry and Whites have made one change to their squad as they travel to the Twickenham Stoop this Friday evening to take part in the final of the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s.

Lloyd Evans misses out on the trip to the capital, having rolled his ankle in the group stages, with fly half Mat Protheroe in line to make his first outing in a Cherry and White shirt.

The 18-year old joins the squad which is again captained by Steph Reynolds, who crossed for three tries in the group stages in front of a packed Kingsholm on last Thursday evening.

Two young Academy prospects Will Safe and Joe Mullis are handed another chance to impress after eye catching cameos in the group stages, joining Senior Academy backs, Ollie Thorley and Elliott Creed.

Jack Evans, who scored two tries, and sixteen points in total last Thursday continues with the experience provided by Gareth Evans and Dan Thomas coupled with the creativity from Ben Vellacott, Steve McColl and Mark Atkinson.

Gloucester Rugby take on hosts Harlequins in the quarter final at 18:25 on Friday evening with extensive coverage across the club's social media platforms, and throughout the evening.

Olly Morgan spoke ahead of the finals night.

"It's another final but it's also about the occasion for the young guys and hopefully being part of a successful competition.

"Harlequins have consistently been in the finals in the last few years and have been in the World Sevens Series.

"They're coached by Howard Graham, a Sevens specialist, they play a good brand of rugby from a strong academy and good senior players, and I'm sure they will be a strong outfit.”
