Purton Reserves 8 Lambourn Sports Res 2
PURTON made it three wins and two draws in their pre-season schedule when they hammered Lambourn Sports Res – with seven of the eight goals coming from prolific striker Shane Hibbert.
Purton played their slick passing game from the off, taking the lead on 15 minutes with a Hibbert finish from a nice squared pass by Connor Dettmar.
Hibbert got his second five minutes later and completed a hat-trick in the 26th minute after another Dettmar assist Before the break Hibbert added a fourth and fifth, the first one when converting a penalty after he had been fouled in the area.
A minute before the break, Lambourn pulled a goal back with a penalty of their own.
Purton made five changes at half-time but continued to play great passing football even though Lambourn pulled another goal back in the 55th minute.
This kicked Purton back into gear; Hibbert turned provider in the 63rd minute, setting up a goal for Adam Giles and two minutes later he returned the compliment for Hibbert.
Hit man Hibbert completed the scoring in the 72nd minute, rounding the keeper to bag his seventh goal of the game, before being substituted to appreciative applause from the crowd.
