THE honours board in the SweetFuels CDCA Division One this week is headed by Oaksey, playing their home game away at NATS.

Having been asked to bat first on a good pitch, the Oaksey openers laid an excellent foundation with a partnership of 110 in 23 overs until Tom Cook (43) lost his wicket.

What followed was mayhem as Hector Whitrow smashed the bowling to all parts, hitting 14 fours and ten sixes in his superb knock of 140 off 60 balls. At the other end, Tom Burgess (132*) was no slouch as he provided excellent support, hitting 15 fours and two sixes. He carried his bat and led Oaksey to a club record total of 324-2.

NATS have already shown this season that they are capable of chasing any score, however an excellent opening spell by Ken Lane (8-3-9-2) in which he removed both of the dangerous Phillips brothers, put paid to any NATS recovery.

Andy Steward (3-35) provided good support and Phil Biggs (4-6) cleaned up the tail to leave NATS 93 all out.

Stow-on-the-Wold put their recent woes behind them as they recorded a good win at home to Oakridge. The visitors posted a competitive 181-9 with Iain Taylor (43*) and Martin Smith (40) to the fore. David Nieman (4-64) was the main wicket-taker for Stow.

In reply, the Stow openers made light work of the chase as skipper Ash Andrews (77*) and David Nieman (54) led the hosts to 182-1 and a much needed nine-wicket victory.

Improving Williamstrip made it three wins out of four with a hard-fought victory at home to Cricklade. The visitors elected to bat first but found run-scoring tough against an accurate Williamstrip attack led by Bruce Currie (4-41) and Froy Litherland (3-28).

Tom Davies (33) and Mike Mabbatt (33) made decent contributions as Cricklade posted 160-9 off their 40 overs.

After tea, the hosts found life equally tough against a good Cricklade attack but opener Ben Mills (65) made a telling contribution as Williamstrip reached the target at 163-6 with ten balls to spare. For Cricklade, Angelo Rigali (3-40) was the pick of the bowlers.

At Adlestrop, visitors Sherston Magna found themselves batting against a very good home attack and the wickets soon began to tumble. An outstanding opening spell from Sam Keen (5-18) and good support from Nick Rawlings (2-12) saw Sherston collapse to 68 all out in 29 overs.

After the break the hosts also found batting difficult, particularly against Andy Pegg (2-27) but a solid start from Adrian Vale (29) paved the way for a comfortable eight-wicket win for Adlestrop.
