ANDREW NICHOLSON and William Fox-Pitt, two of the top event riders in the world, were out of luck at the Dauntsey Park Horse Trials which took place last week.
Nicholson had to settle for two placings but there were section wins for Olympic riders Daisy Berkeley (Piers Gaveston), Mary King (Kings Choice) and Vittoria Panizzon (Super Cillious).
Amelia James (Hayestown Donny) and Helen James (Little George), both from Dauntsey, landed a great local double in the BE90 section.
It was a popular result for the daughter and wife of long-term event sponsor Andrew James Travel from Malmesbury.
Dauntsey enjoyed record breaking entries and the North Wiltshire event was blessed with fine weather.
The cross country course was again designed by event organiser and four-star event rider Beanie Sturgis and built by Malmesbury-based Willis Bros, who have also been selected to build the Rio Olympic course.
