Bourton One Mile Challenge, road

HATS OFF to a revitalised Bill Leggate who finished a solid sixth in the lung-busting but entertaining Bourton Mile Challenge.

Leggate's time of 4.47 was only 21 seconds behind the winner Graham Rush and there was a good turn-out turn-out of 186 runners.

Club newcomer Holly Tugwell had a superb race, finishing third lady and 1st FV35.

David Moss also put in a fine run to finish just ahead of 12-year-old Luke Buck.

Dan Finchett was pleased with his 42nd spot, just 12 seconds ahead of second V65 Gordon Jones.

Fi Collings also had an excellent run finishing first FV50 and there was a FV45 third place for Caroline Buck, who was just two places ahead of Lisa Carpenter.

More age group medals came for Barbara Thomas (third FV55) and Ruth Fulford, just beaten to a second FV65.

Upton-on Severn Standard Distance Triathlon (1,500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run)

MARTIN PULLEY has put in some consistent training and although out of the water well behind Leo Crawford he clawed it all back on the mainly flat two-lap bike section.

The run was also gentle and a 48.41 gave Martin an age-group win.

Trudy Compton continues to get back to fitness with an excellent swim of 21.15 and Angela Dodd, also with a fast swim, was just over the three-hour mark.

Parkruns, 5km, trails

JASON HUMM ran a very competitive 18.38 in Cheltenham to finish fifth behind winner Alex Lee (16.45) of Cheltenham Harriers; 385 finished.

In Swindon, Martin Croucher was 18th pushing the pace to finish in 19.58 while David Moss (23.33) and Barbara Thomas (27.14) limbered up for the Bourton Mile later in the day. Simon Nott (16.11) of Calne RC won and 497 finished.
