CALMSDEN Horse Trials will be hosting their first summer event on August 1-2.

Ampney Down Farm, near Cirencester, is already the home to a well-established competition in October and the new summer event has attracted a host of entries.

Title sponsors Equifeast will host an open day, course walks and a trade stand at the event.

New sponsors for August are Stratstone Landrover, Cheltenham; Black Moth Vodka – produced and developed by Paul Amin who lives locally; Watership Property Ltd; Cotswold Vets and Jolly Nice ice creams.

Organiser Joanne Verey said: "We have two full days of entries, our new introductory track at 80cm has attracted many competitors, plus we have lots of support from more experienced professional riders such as Jonty Evans, Jodie Amos, Laura Collett and Bill Levett.”

The dressage starts at 8am on both days, showjumping and cross country follow at 9-9.30am.

There will be hot and cold refreshments available and a varied assortment of trade stands.

Entrance to the event is free.
