SWINDON 2015 riders had a mixed night at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium which hosted its 16th British Grand Prix on Saturday.

Peter Kildemand, despite being floored twice, reached the final and from the tricky outside gate claimed third place ahead of series leader Tai Woffinden but behind surprise winner Niels-Kristian Iversen and a resurgent Chris Holder.

Troy Batchelor opened with a win against Cardiff debutant Kildemand. He struggled in his next two races and in heat 16 he crashed head first into the air fence before being taken off the track in an ambulance.

The crash, perhaps caused by Chris Harris being a little out of control, looked initially quite serious.

However, after undergoing tests at hospital it has been confirmed that Batchelor did not suffer any broken bones.

He did aggravate a shoulder injury suffered earlier in the season but luckily the speedway schedule is light at the moment and hopefully he will be fit for the Swindon matches on Saturday and next Monday.

While 2013 champion Woffinden did not stand on the podium he was the undoubted winner on the night as his five wins doubled his lead in the series to 12 points while main rivals, triple world champions Nicki Pedersen and Greg Hancock, both went out the semifinal stage.
