CIRENCESTER ABC travelled to Abergavenny in South Wales, to a show hosted by Silurian Boxing Club, and came home with two impressive victories.
First up for the club, in the 44kg category, was Raymond Jones who took on Declan Tomsett from Bargoed ABC in what was an all-action schoolboy bout.
The first round saw Jones taking the fight to the Welsh boxer, landing double jab and right-hand punches and mixing up head and body shots.
Tomsett was hanging on trying to stay the distance.
Thanks to a relentless attacking mode throughout the three rounds, Jones won with a unanimous points decision.
Next it was the turn of Tommy Varey against Tomas Morris from Cardigan ABC in the 51kg category.
Varey put the disappointment of going out of the national schoolboy quarter finals behind him to take part in another explosive schoolboy contest.
The Cirencester youngster dictated the pace from the off, catching Morris with two- and three-punch combinations, and putting the Welsh boxer on the back foot.
In the closing stages Varey caught Morris with a good left hook and went on to win with a unanimous points decision.
Three of the Cirencester ABC lads travel again to Wales tomorrow (Friday, May 29) and two more box in the Gold Cup in Bristol over the weekend.
ABA coach Simon Knowles said: “We had two brilliant performances, both boys fighting opponents with identical records. It was another great night for Cirencester ABC.’’
