JORDAN WEAVING enjoyed a solid weekend at Donington Park in the Superstock 600 Championship as he secured his first points of the year.

Weaving failed to complete the opening lap on his previous visit to Donington for this series in April. And the 18-year old former Cirencester Deer Park student, who qualified in 18th position, began cautiously.

After avoiding a big crash on the opening corner and being pushed down to 24th place, the NMT No Limits Kawasaki rider rode a steady race.

He was up to 16th position in lap three, and then shot up into 12th on the eighth lap just before the race was brought to a premature end by the red flag with three laps to go.

Weaving said: “I’m happy, but not happy. I was able to secure my first championship points but if it wasn’t for the carnage in the first corner which pushed me down to 24th I might have been able to fight for a higher position.

"I was closing on the group for eighth before the red flags were waved. I'm a bit gutted but have got to look at the positives.”

Hullavington’s Fraser Rogers had another tough weekend on his Tsingtao Hampshire MV Agusta as he started from the back of the grid and was only able to make his way up into 23rd position in the tough Superstock 600 class.
