Peugeot Coronation Foursomes Stableford
THE Ladies Peugeot Coronation Foursomes Stableford was played over two days in very different weather conditions.
On Thursday, although there were numerous entries, only two pairs braved the extremely wet and windy conditions with the remainder of the ladies taking shelter and not even starting the competition. As this was a competition in which you entered either Thursday or Saturday, they were unable to change their plans and play on the Saturday.
Nevertheless, the eventual winners were two of those hardy ladies, Kate Dymoke and Fiona Harrington with a well-earned score of 35 points. Runners-up were Saturday pairing Ali Kelly and Blanche Neal with a score of 34.
The winners will go forward to the final in August, which this year is to be held at Cirencester Golf Club.
The ladies section have had a number of new members and five of them were able to make a special afternoon tea when they met the lady captain and other ladies within the section.
There are a number of junior girls within the club who are starting to play more regularly. They are all very welcome to sign up and play in any of the competitions. One of the younger members, Louisa Neal, recently won the GGG Stableford event at Thornbury with a very good score of 48 points, Her handicap has been cut from 55 to 45!
Ladies' County Championships

She won the seniors' competition with the best net score over the 36 holes for the day and had the best gross score too.
