Cirencester AC and Triathlon Club

AFTER the rigours of the London Marathon and the Chedworth Roman Trail, last weekend was a quiet one for Cirencester AC runners.

The regular trio of Swindon Parkrun competitors were among more than 500 runners in last Saturday's race, with Dave Moss first home for the club in an excellent 33rd place. His time of 21.08 was only a few seconds outside his personal best, showing that he had quickly recovered from the London Marathon. Next in was Lisa Carpenter in 177th (25.50), a minute ahead of Barbara Thomas who was 203rd.

A smaller field assembled for the equivalent race at Chippenham but Cirencester featured strongly thanks to Dave Wright winning his age category in 19.30 in 10th place overall. Ed Morris was less than half a minute behind.

Meanwhile, Martin Croucher continued his ultra marathon preparation by travelling to Sturminster Newton for the North Devon Marathon. A very hilly course with three climbs of more than 100 feet provided a tough challenge but Martin was equal to the task in finishing in the top half of the field with a time of 4hr 8min.
