THERE was a pulsating climax to the first junior tournament of the season in the Cotswold District as Lechlade and Cirencester fought out the final of the U12s six-a-side cricket event held at Fairford cricket ground as part of the club's 'Open Day' celebrations.
These also acted as a curtain-raiser to the new season.
The two teams tied having both scored 38 runs each but Lechlade took the silverware as they had managed to take two more wickets throughout the tournament than their nearest rivals.
Other teams involved in the tournament came from Fairford and Poulton.
