Fairford Town 1 Carterton 1
FAIRFORD TOWN extended their unbeaten league run to three, but they had to come from behind to earn a draw against Carterton.
The Reds, who were without a game on Saturday, came into the game fresh and made a bright start.
Tom Ballard fired over the bar after 21 minutes but the Carterton defence stood firm with the Reds pressing forward during the first period.
Going in goalless at the break, the game came to life on the hour with winger Lee Smith cutting inside from the left only to see his effort saved by Harry Ellis in the Carterton goal. Smith then fired over before Jack Allen saw his close-range effort smothered by Ellis.
The breakthrough came on 79 minutes with Carterton defender Ty Willett powerfully heading home from a corner.
Eight minutes from time Ballard capitalised on a loose ball just inside the area and saw his effort sneak under Ellis to earn the Reds a deserved share of the spoils.
