Bourton Roadrunners
Carterton 10k
MOTHERING Sunday saw 15 Bourton Roadrunners participating in the Carterton 10k on a fast, flat course with the emphasis on speed.
In cool and windy conditions, they set out on the two-loop race based at Carterton Leisure Centre.
Chris Krzyweic came home fourth in 36.20, three minutes behind the winner. Shona Crombie-Hicks was second lady in 37.32, followed by Ewen Smith in 39.43.
Steph Lane was in great form as fifth lady (41.25) with Andrew Evans four minutes behind in 45.47.
Debbie Davidson pulled off a PB of 46.31, just pipping Ali Lane, who was first LV45 in 46.37. Brian Hulcup was second MV60 (47.16), with triathlete Chris Dry hot on his heels in 48.13.
Liz Hulcup again produced an impressive result as first LV60 (48.55) followed by Kerry-Anne Taylor in 51.09 and Gill Carrick in 52.38. Linda Edwards did well in 55.57 and Lynn Hudson finished in 56.33, just a week after running the Gloucester 20. Darren Davidson completed the course in just over the hour (1:00:11).
Shakespeare Raceways 5k
SUSAN and Christopher Hunt were among the winners at the Shakespeare Raceways 5k at Long Marston Airfield.
Susan finished sixth overall and first lady (22.25), while 10-year-old Christopher was seventh and first junior (in a PB of 22.38).
Steph Holton was eighth and second lady (23.00) and in Gary Holton's first race after a long lay-off due to injury he recorded 30.37.
