TRIFERRIS put on a series of races at the beautiful Charlton Park near Malmesbury and Cirencester AC runners recorded two wins in three races.
Flying Fox Fearless Five fun run, five miles multi-terrain
CIRENCESTER’S competitive Peter Nunn romped away to finish in 33.27.
Mark Edwards has been putting in some extra training and ran well to come in with a time of 39.17, finishing fifth out of 43 finishers.
Flying Fox Children’s muddy mile, multi-terrain
CIRENCESTER has a strong juniors section and their regular training sessions paid off as they came close to achieving a clean sweep.
Twelve-year-old Luke Buck has had a successful winter and won the race in fine style with a time of 6.57, but he didn’t have it all his own way.
Team-mate James Edwards, who has only recently returned to racing after racing, finished close behind in 7.04. Sophie Izon was just one second behind third-placed Taya Dee of Highworth RC. She finished a very strong fourth overall in 7.42.
Dymchurch 10km, Kent, roads
TERRY RANGER, spending a quiet weekend away with his wife, chose to run the out-and-back seawall course in very windy and cold conditions.
He finished in a solid eighth place in 46.10 behind winner Paul Brough (40.20) of Haverhill RC. Sixty-three cold souls finished.
Parkruns, 5km trails
Burnage, Stockport
GEOFF WELLS ran well to finish 13th overall but he just missed his course PB by one second. His time was 23.14 and the winner was William Hardman (19.08). Sixty three finished.
Cheltenham
RUTH FULFORD was pleased with yet another good race, as she was once again the FV65 winner in 28.58. Luke Montgomery came down from Corby AC to win in 16.36 and 364 runners completed the three-lap course.
Swindon
ANOTHER large turn-out with 431 runners finishing and one of the most regular attendees, Ciren’s Barbara Thomas, was 191st, completing the course in 26.59 to be first FV55. The winner was Ben Cole (16.11) of Tonbridge AC.
