Cirencester League Div One
Poulton 6 The Beeches 2
ALTHOUGH Poulton won well in the end it was not as easy as the scoreline suggests.
Poulton were leading 2-1 with just 15 minutes remaining, but Beeches were having the better of the game at that point and looked quite capable of equalising.
Earlier Poulton had made a good start, Luke Richards putting them ahead after only five minutes.
Richards made it 2-0 on the half-hour but Beeches fought back well and Dave Andrews turned a cross into his own goal to make it 2-1 on the stroke of half-time.
During the second half Beeches continued to have their fair share of the game before Dean Woolgar eventually gave Poulton a 3-1 lead after 75 minutes.
Jodie Lawrence put his side back in contention at 3-2 from the penalty spot within a minute, before Woolgar scored his second to give Poulton a 4-2 lead seven minutes from time.
Further goals from John Dawson and Dan Read in the last five minutes secured the win.
