Cirencester Ladies 3 BAC 3

CIRENCESTER ladies conceded a late equaliser to deny them all three points against BAC.

The first half was played out at a slightly frantic, fast pace with end-to-end attacks and Cirencester managed to convert two opportunities.

A great sprint and cross from Kath Jackson found Kath Fry perfectly positioned to tap the ball home.

The second goal came thanks to the persistence of Michelle Cobb.

Coach Paul Anstee made some tactical changes before half-time to strengthen the defence and prevent the speedy BAC players from making counter attacks.

In the second half BAC won an early penalty corner and secured their first goal.

A rather lucky break saw BAC convert a second goal soon after.

Cirencester pulled up their socks and Fry won at least three penalty corners, from one of which Jules Finn was just too high with an awesome strike.

Some textbook skills from Jackson set up Amanda Cannon but her slap shot was saved and Finn's attempt to strike a fast cross subsequently was pushed wide.

The Cirencester pressure eventually told with Finn scoring with 11 minutes to go.

But BAC were able to bag a late equaliser.

Cirencester Ladies II 1 Gloucester Ladies IV 1

CIRENCESTER seconds earned another valuable point this week against Gloucester.

The first half proved goalless thanks to a competitive midfield battle and limited scoring opportunities at either end.

Cirencester pressed Gloucester hard in the second half and managed to convert the first goal after some great link-up play between Jenny Jones and scorer Hannah Carter.

Ciren held the opposition at bay with some determined defending but could not prevent the equaliser coming in the last 10 minutes.
