Bourton 10k

SUCH is the popularity of the Highbridge Jewellers-sponsored Bourton 10k that this year its 570 places were snapped up within a record 12 hours.

The race was won by Will Ferguson from CLC Striders in 32.36, with Anthony Bailey (Cheltenham and County Harriers) second in 33.06 and Stephen Price (Uknetrunner) third in 33.24.

The first lady was Rachel Felton (34.17), followed by Kate Hulls (Bristol and West AC) in 35.37 and Sophie Carter (Belgrave Harriers) in 36.20.

First home for Bourton Roadrunners was Chris Krzywiec in an excellent 36.16, with Tim Heming finishing in 37.19.

Shona Crombie-Hicks finished first FV40 (37.43) with Lucy Walmsley not far behind in 38.47.

Ross Kent made a fantastic race debut for the club with 39.18.

There were personal bests for Niamh Shoemark (41.22), Claire Harrison (42.43) and Susan Hunt (45.00).

Steph Holton ran 45.31, Maxine Emes 51.01 and Alan Gibson 51.41.

Shona, Lucy and Niamh of Bourton finished second ladies' team behind Almost Athletes.
