SOUTH CERNEY, Division One leaders in the Cirencester & District League, maintained their winning run with a 3-0 victory over visitors Intel FC.

An early strike from Kieren Jones, followed by a further goal from Aaron Perry midway through the first half, both excellently worked and executed goals, put Cerney in control.

Intel saw plenty of the ball in the second half but lacked penetration, and Mark Loxton's late volley sealed three valuable points for the title chasers.

Reigning champions CHQ Utd, currently in second place, are cranking up the pressure, and they recorded a 13-0 thrashing away at Minchinhampton Town.

Siddington Sports continued their recent good run with a 4-2 victory at relegation-threatened The Beeches and Oaksey, who have enjoyed a good season, stayed on track for a top-four finish after their 5-1 victory at Lechlade.

The league's top scorer Phil Hall hit a hat-trick for Oaksey, with the other goals coming from Jake Pegler and Bradley Wickson.

Highworth Town Development recorded a good 4-1 away win at Stroud FC.

In the outstanding Senior Charities Cup game, Malmesbury Vics Reserves beat Bibury Reserves 2-1 with goals from Jordan Thomson and Jordan Matthews in extra-time, to set up a quarter-final clash with South Cerney on Saturday.

Division Two leaders Wroughton Town Reserves were pushed all the way at Oaksey Reserves before they emerged with the points in a 4-3 victory.

Wroughton had taken a two-goal lead through Devon Brown and Matt Harris, before they were pegged back by Gareth Jones and Joe Topping. Steven Nesbitt restored Wroughton`s advantage but Ieuan Walton equalised before James Turpie hit a late winner.

Title rivals Siddington Sports Veterans and Down Ampney drew 3-3, with James Richards, Jon Reeves and Mark Smith scoring for the veterans, in a game well controlled by young referee Jake Holmes.

Ashton Keynes who currently sit third in the table, won 3-0 at Sherston, and fifth-placed CHQ Utd Reserves beat Minchinhampton Town Reserves by the same scoreline.

Stratton Utd and South Cerney Reserves were involved in a close match before Cerney emerged as victors by the odd goal in nine. Lechlade Reserves picked up three very good points at the foot of the table with a 2-1 victory at Minety, and Tetbury Town Thirds gained a valuable point in a 2-2 draw at home to Blunsdon.
