GREAT RISSINGTON CC and Purton CC are through to the second round of the Davidstow National Village Cup without bowling a ball.
Great Rissington, who have teams in both the third division of the Gloucestershire County League and the third division of the Cotswold & District Cricket Association league, received a bye in the first round.
They are due to play Marshfield CC - who also received a bye – in a match scheduled for Sunday, May 17.
Purton CC play in the Wiltshire Division of the West of England Premier League.
They, too, have a bye in the Dorset/Wiltshire regional section of the Davidstow Cup and will face Great Bedwyn in the second round.
The Davidstow National Village Cup, now in its 43rd year, gives village cricketers the unforgettable opportunity of playing at Lord's, which is the venue for the final on Sunday, September 13 .
