STRATTON YOUTH ROUND-UP

Avebury U17s 0 Stratton Youth U17s 4

STRATTON U17s dominated the first half for no reward yet ironically scored four unanswered goals in a much more even second half.

The first period saw Stratton battering the Avebury goal and hitting the woodwork on multiple occasions.

A few minutes into the second half the lively Charlie Savage finished a great move with a header. Five minutes later Alfie Smith doubled the lead with a neat finish. The impressive Dan James, who covered more of the pitch than any other player, made it 3-0 on 60 minutes with a 20-yard strike into the bottom corner.

Avebury kept on battling but didn't have enough firepower to get past Ben Alexander in goal. Savage got his second on 70 minutes to finish the scoring. MoM: Dan James.

Stratton Youth U15s 5 Pewsey Vale U15s 3

IN A competitive and entertaining game, Stratton came from behind to win 5-3 at home to Pewsey Vale.

After conceding early, Jethro Kingsley and Michael Cook gave Stratton a half-time lead and they managed to keep ahead in the second period with further goals from James Thomas (2) and Matt Hopkins.

Meichal Wright was forced into a number of fine saves as Pewsey pressed right to the end.

Stratton Youth U14s 2 Wootton Bassett Town U14s White 0

A CLOSE contest was only decided in Stratton's favour by two late goals.

The goalless first half saw more pressure from Stratton overall, although both sides had some good chances.

The second half saw more possession and pressure from Wootton Bassett and the game ebbed and flowed.

The deadlock was broken five minutes from the end by Stratton's Morgan Fouracres who tapped in a close-range effort from a low cross.

One minute later he repeated the feat from a well-worked move to win the match for Stratton 2-0.

MoM: Ayden Clarke.

STRATTON Youth U9s enjoyed another top-drawer game at FC Chippenham.

Stratton scorers were: Jayden Stratford (2), Holly Giles (2) and Charlie Miller (2).

STRATTON Youth U7s were home to Wroughton and manager Todd Kavanagh was happy with their continued development.

SADLY, the U18s game against Wootton Bassett was postponed as a matter of respect following the untimely death of Justin Ashley, the father of one of our U18 players, Jacob Ashley.

The club and all those connected with it send their sincere condolences to Jacob and his family.
