M4 Karting Cirencester League Div Two
Minety 1 Oaksey Reserves 2
ALTHOUGH the game was played on a very sticky pitch, which deteriorated as play progressed, Oaksey Reserves led twice and saw out the game to take a 2-1 victory.
Oaksey played some decent football and maintained control of the game, even though they had the disadvantage to be playing up the hill in the first half.
Midway through the half, Gareth Jones took a nice touch to give him enough space to slam home a very fine goal.
The playing surface quickly turned to mud in the second period, making it difficult to produce any quality play.
Minety drew level with a finely-taken free kick, which left the keeper stranded.
Oaksey retook the lead following a fine run and sweetly-taken shot from full back Tom Topping.
Minety thought they had equalised late on but after consulting the linesman the referee disallowed the goal.
