CIRENCESTER Golf Club duo James Harraway and his boss Ed Goodwin have won the final Gloucestershire & Somerset PGA event of 2014, the Pairs Championship at Burnham and Berrow.
It was a record sixth win in the event for Goodwin – all with different partners.
No other professional has has won the title more than twice.
Thirty six players took part in this traditional end-of-year event.
The opening circuit was played in a scramble format by each pair with better ball taking over on the second lap.
Goodwin and Harraway made their score on the front nine holes covering them in just 31 strokes, four under par and the best of the day. They went bogey-free and picked up shots at the 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th.
The only blemish on their card came at the 10th but a Harraway birdie at the 15th and a closing gain from Goodwin saw them home by a two-stroke margin with their six-under score of 65 The Naunton Downs duo of Nick Ellis and Pete Garratt shared fifth prize with their 69.
