Ladies 14-hole Turkey Trot

THERE is no let-up to the competitions played for by the ladies' section of Cirencester Golf Club in the run-up to Christmas.

THE 14-hole Turkey Trot was played in two stages with 26 ladies featuring on the Thursday and another 11 turning out on the Saturday. Thursday's competition was won on countback by Jan Stephens with a score of 28 points ahead of Linda McIntosh and Muriel Telling in second and third respectively on the same score.

The Saturday competition was won by Lea Finding with a score of 27 points. runner-up was Emma Brereton (25pts) and Pam Mallinson was third with 25 points.

Christmas Bowmaker

TWELVE teams braved the cold and wet conditions for the Christmas Bowmaker and earned their soup, mince pie and mulled wine afterwards.

The competition being won by the team of Venetia Champniss, Christine Clark and Pam Mallinson with a score of 52 points.

They were closely followed by Sue Hodgson, Sheila Lowbridge and Jan Stephens (51 points) who took the second prize on countback from Jae Berens, Deborah Hewett and Gill Hunter.

The ladies recently held a new members' 'Afternoon Tea' which was well attended. Liz Anderson and Erika Brooke are to be thanked for organising the event.
