CHARLES WRIGHT and Lewis Rose are the first two signings for the Swindon Robins ahead of the 2015 campaign.

The pair were chosen by the Robins at Wednesday’s Elite Riders Draft meeting to fill their two reserve spots for next season.

Wright, who was selected with the final pick of the opening round by boss Alun Rossiter, enjoyed a spectacular 2014 season with Somerset while also impressing on several guest appearances in the top flight.

Meanwhile, late motocross convert Rose impressed with King’s Lynn during his debut Elite League campaign.

Rossiter believes the draft system is set to work much more effectively following changes to strengthen the scheme after its introduction in 2014. And he is confident they are well-placed to benefit from a strong lower order.

“I think the system is a lot fairer this year, it’s certainly a lot stronger and the reserve pairings are much more even across the league," said Rosco.

"In the end things turned out well with us getting Charles Wright and Lewis Rose.

“We are pleased with our two riders, and we are feeling positive about our strength at reserve ahead of next season.

“Charles did a good job whenever he guested in the Elite League, and he had a couple of meetings at Swindon as well.

“Obviously, I had a bit of insight with him when I was helping Nick (Morris) down at Somerset last year, so I’m sure he can come in and do a really good job for us.

“We are very pleased to welcome Lewis into our side as well. He did a good job at King’s Lynn last season and is a talented rider, so hopefully both him and Charles can perform well for us next year.”
