Oaksey Reserves 4 Ashton Keynes 7
NOTHING separates Oaksey Reserves and Ashton Keynes in the league but the visitors eventually ran out easy winners in this cup tie.
It was a hard-fought first half with Oaksey going ahead by virtue of two fine individual goals from Sam Munton and Gareth Jones.
However, Ashton Keynes always looked a threat and soon pegged a goal back.
In the second half Ashton Keynes gradually gained ascendency, bagging the equaliser with a well-worked goal.
This spurred the visitors' on while Oaksey's earlier endeavour fell away.
At 3-2 Ashton Keynes dropped down a gear, which allowed Oaksey back into the game and had Oaksey's prolific scorer Jones taken the two golden opportunities that fell to him, the outcome could have been different.
However, Ashton Keynes kept their noses in front and eventually widened the gap.
A well-taken goal by Adam Wickson and a fine header from Kyle Fitzsimmons gave Oaksey a glimmer of hope, but Keynes grabbed a further four goals to finish worthy winners.
