JESS PIDCOCK on her grey gelding Dinky was the star of the show at the Rectory Farm Arena Dressage Championships on November 16.

Pidcock took the champion title for both Class Three (Open Preliminary) and Class Four (Open Novice/Medium) with scores of 74.6 per cent and 67.7 per cent respectively.

New Zealand’s international dressage rider Shiwon Green made an appearance on one of her young horses Toothless to take second in Class Three and fourth in Class Four.

Class One (Restricted Intro/Preliminary) was won by Christina Allen riding Ollie with a score of 70.5 per cent. Rhianen Godgrey-Cass (Annagh Scooby) just behind on 69 per cent.

Rhianen was also third in Class Two (Restricted Preliminary) on a score of 67.2 per cent. That class was won by professional eventing groom Toni Lander on her mare Scampi with 71.2 per cent.

The overall competition was fierce with nearly 70 competitors, who had to have gained a score of 59 per cent or above at a previous Rectory Farm dressage competition to qualify.

The series and championships are sponsored by Sydney Free Saddlery, Cirencester and the prizes and rosettes were all provided and awarded by proprietor Mary Sharman.

Rectory Farm is a top class competition and training venue situated just a few miles outside of Cirencester, off the A417.

It’s 50m x 80m all weather arena is available for hire throughout the year with a full course of show jumps, and it is the venue for more than 40 competitions every year between March and November.

The competition season starts up again at the beginning of March 2015 with some eventers' combined training competitions.
