Dirt Half Challange

ELAINE CHAPMAN of Running Somewhere Else was one of 649 runners who competed in this year's Dirt Half in Leighton Buzzard.

The race follows a canal towpath north to Stoke Hammond with stunning views, then climbs through beautiful countryside to Great Brickhill, passing through the scenic Stockgrove Country Park before following the Greensand Ridge back to the start via the canal towpath.

The race was predominantly off road and very muddy.

Elaine completed the course in 1:56.05, three minutes faster than last year.

Swindon Parkrun

FIVE RSE runners took part in this week's Swindon Parkrun and first home for the club – and third overall – was James Thomas in a time of 18.09.

He was followed by Matt Lambourne 20.53, Sally Jamieson 22.06, Liz Thomas 25.02 and Claire Joyce 29.03.

Swindon 10k

FIVE RSE ladies turned up on a misty Sunday morning to compete in this year's Swindon 10k. They starting from the Karting Centre and ran along country lanes on a two-loop course.

First home for the club was Sally Jamieson in a time of 43.51 (PB), followed by Kirsty Pitts 47.28 (PB), Lizzie Clark 51.37 (PB), Hali Kinson 52.47 (PB) and Caroline Terry 1:02.54.

Gosport Half

ON SUNDAY, 1,598 runners competed in this year's Gosport Half Marathon.

Three RSE ladies ran this fast and friendly race, and first home for the club (in her first half-marathon) was Robyn Freisner in a time of 1:52.19, followed by Sophie Dennett 1.59.38 and Alison Traynor 1.59.43.

Cirencester Park Duathlon

CIRENCESTER PARK was the venue for the off road Duathlon – a two-mile cross country run, 10-mile mountain bike ride and another two- mile cross country run.

The course was a mix of wooded trails, grass and tracks with a fairly flat run and undulating bike course.

Andrew Maddison, one of 148 competitors, completed in 1:20.24 to finish 29th overall.
