Cirencester II 28 Tetbury 0

CIRENCESTER seconds ran out 28-0 winners against Tetbury, scoring two converted tries in each half.

The friendly fixture had an early kick-off so that both teams could watch the England v NZ game in the clubhouse afterwards.

Conditions were far from ideal with a strong wind and driving rain. Despite this the pitch was in good condition and allowed for some excellent rugby.

The game was always going to be about the quality Cirencester back line and whether the pack could provide them with enough ball.

So the back row of Rumble, Bennett and Nicole set about providing a platform to do just that assisted by Thorn, Williams, Skelton, Vaughan and Langley.

Good distribution from scrum half Waite and fly half Armitage saw Ciren run in tries in the first half from Rumble and Tarleton which were both converted by Waite.

Ciren introduced Cooper, Weir, Brunsdon, Morley-Jones and Harman and the second half saw much of the same with two more converted tries from Weir and a 50-metre break from Barker.

A special mention goes to relative newcomer Steven Brunsdon who was excellent under the high ball and in defence.
