STRATTON YOUTH ROUND-UP

Stratton Youth U15s 6 Stratton Juniors U15s 1

STRATTON YOUTH secured a comfortable win at home to Stratton Juniors from Swindon. In windy conditions, Stratton Youth immediately took control with neat, short passing and Joe Speak soon found the net with a low shot to open the scoring.

Further pressure forced a corner and a good delivery to the far post found Casey Fallows who headed powerfully home.

A second goal from Speak made it 3-0 and that was how it remained until half-time.

Stratton continued to control the game in the second half and Speak completed his hat-trick showing excellent close control to waltz through the Juniors defence and calmly beat the keeper. Will Collings, Mike McCarten, Louie Jackson and Ryan Wardle were rarely troubled in defence and had the confidence to push forward and make some driving runs.

However, a lapse in concentration allowed a Juniors striker to pull a goal back.

This was only a minor setback, however, as Michael Cook and Jack Sheridan both got on the score sheet to complete a 6-1 win, and maintain their top of the table position.

A WELL-CONTESTED match in blustery conditions. Swindon Youth broke the deadlock on 16 minutes by exploiting a hole in the Stratton defence.

Stratton continued to apply steady pressure throughout the half having good periods of possession, their best chance being denied by a fine save from Swindon’s goalie.

The second half saw more pressure from Stratton, but they were undone by another good attacking move from Swindon on 45 minutes to go 2-0 up.

Stratton struck back on 49 minutes with a header by Tiyree Philipson to set up a tense finish, with Swindon maintaining the lead until the final whistle.

MoM: Tiyree Philipson.

Kian Hawtin made it four from the spot after Charlie Grace was fouled and Kimber completed his hat-trick and then got his fourth in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Thomas Jones tapped in from a Dyer cross to get his first Stratton goal before Charlie Love tucked the ball past the keeper to make it eight a minute from time.
