STRATTON YOUTH ROUND-UP

Stratton Youth U15s 6 Kingshill U15s 2

STRATTON YOUTH U15s came out on top against the newly-formed Kingshill whose team contained a number of former Stratton players.

With Meichal Wright falling ill on the way to the game, Stratton were forced into a change of goalkeeper. Charlie Hill volunteered to stand in and put in admirable performance.

For the first 30 minutes Stratton were restricted to long-range efforts as Kingshill were sharper in midfield and Tom Price was using his pace in defence to clear any danger.

With the game approaching half-time, Tom Caine pounced on a parried shot near the penalty spot to put Stratton ahead.

Kingshill rallied immediately with a deserved equaliser via Ethan Milliner on the volley.

Stratton were straight out of the blocks in the second half as Michael Cook continued his goalscoring form with a quick-fire hat-trick.

The first two were headers and the third was a tap-in after a fumble by the unfortunate Kingshill keeper David Adams in an otherwise man-of-the-match performance.

Kingshill were stunned but unbowed and a cross from the right into a crowded box led to them reducing the deficit to 4-2.

However, with no substitutes available they began to tire. Jethro Kingsley became more of a threat down the left wing and curled a beauty in to the top right corner for Stratton’s fifth goal.

Casey Fallows completed the scoring – his first goal for Stratton – with a good finish following a jinking run in to the box.

The win maintains Stratton’s position at the top of the league with five wins in five games.

League Cup Round Two

Stratton Youth U18s 0 Croft Sports 2

STRATTON Youth U18s, last year's beaten finalists, made a shock exit from the league cup to Croft Sports from division two.

Croft disrupted Stratton’s play with a physical and combative approach, and this paid off midway through the first half as their centre forward pounced on a defensive error and slotted home.

This stung Stratton into life but hard as they tried they couldn’t get past an excellent Croft goalkeeper who made sensational saves from Tom Cox and George Thrussell.

Then right on half-time Croft added a second goal, again due to an uncharacteristic defensive lapse.

Stratton were much improved in the second half with Haselar and Cox proving a handful, and it was no surprise when Haselar hit a glorious 25-yard shot into the top corner.

However, the expected equaliser never came, with George Shutt coming closest when hitting the post.

Stratton Youth U17s 2 FC Abbey Meads U17s 5

STRATTON restored some pride against an Abbey Meads side who had thrashed them in the league two weeks previously.

The entire first half belonged to Stratton as their one-touch, pass and move football surprised their visitors.

The home side had to wait until the 18th minute before Callum Fallows finished in style after some superb wing play. Two minutes later James Pitt doubled the lead with a great finish.

But Stratton allowed Abbey Meads back into the game as they failed to clear a simple corner.

Stratton continued to dominate in the second half until Abbey Meads equalised against the run of play after 55 minutes.

The lively Alfie Smith and Sam Grafton continued to pester the visitors' defence and can count themselves unlucky not to have scored a hatful between them.

As Stratton legs started to tire Abbey Meads grabbed three late goals to give themselves a flattering final score.

The Stratton lads can console themselves with the fact that they played the better football and will soon reap the benefits of their neat passing game.

MoM: Alfie Smith.

Stratton Youth U14s 4 Stratton Juniors U14s 0

STRATTON gained their first win of the season in what was a good game of football.

Both teams created chances in the opening half-hour before Stratton Youth took the lead through a goal by Alfie Jones on 27 minutes. Two minutes later the lead was doubled after a low shot by Jamie Witt.

The second half saw Stratton apply more pressure, scoring goals through Morgan Fouracres and Sam Lomas to complete the 4-0 victory.

MoM: Ayden Clarke.

Chippenham U12s 9 Stratton Youth U12s 1

STRATTON struggled to cope with the pace of their opponents. Stratton's goal came from Josh Littler-Jennings.
