DIVISION One leaders in the M4 Karting Cirencester & District league South Cerney maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with their sixth straight victory, after a hard fought 1-0 away win at Stroud FC.

Ian McSherry scored the game's only goal.

Second-placed reigning champions CHQ Utd stumbled when they were beaten at home 4-3 by Bibury Reserves.

The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes as CHQ looked all at sea at the back, and Bibury could have had other goals but missed some clear-cut chances. The home side rallied to reduce the deficit by the break and they dominated the second half and scored again. As they pressed for an equaliser, Bibury scored a fourth goal on the counter-attack, and although CHQ pulled one back, it was too late to force a share of the points.

Poulton, who are still unbeaten, fell a goal behind to a youthful and energetic Highworth Town Development side when Joe Ouldridge scored after just two minutes.

But John Dawson equalised soon after and midway through the second half, Tom Carpenter got the winner to keep Poulton in second spot in the table.

Intel remain fourth after a convincing 6-1 victory over Siddington Sports, with Rob Hunt and Junior Small both scoring twice, with the other goals coming from Craig Roberts and John Horgan.

Malmesbury Vics Reserves beat struggling The Beeches 4-2, with Jody Lawrence and Stuart Robinson scoring for the visitors.

Improving Oaksey thrashed Minchinhampton Town 7-0. The visitors' cause was not helped with the early sending off of Jason Roffe.

The home side led 2-0 at the break through Phil Hall and Toby Horton, and in the second half, Hall completed his hat-trick. Jake Pegler, Dan Pike and Jake Pinnell also got on the scoresheet.

Down Ampney underlined their credentials as potential Division Two contenders with their 2-0 victory at Ashton Keynes and they are the only side with a 100 per cent record after Wroughton Town Reserves were held 3-3 by visitors CHQ Utd Reserves.

Steve Nesbitt, with two goals, and substitute Lee Curtis were the home side's scorers.

Siddington Sports Veterans, also unbeaten, gained their fourth victory in five games but were pushed all the way by Blunsdon FC before completing a 4-3 home win. Stratton Utd also hit four goals beating Minety 4-2, with Steve Woecki getting both goals for the visitors.

In the only other game in the division, Lechlade Reserves remain bottom after they were beaten 2-1 by visitors Oaksey Reserves for whom Jordan Brooks and Gareth Jones got the goals, with Adam Pitts netting for Lechlade.
