Cirencester Colts 26
Oxford Harlequins Colts 7
CIRENCESTER produced all the entertainment as they ran out four tries-to-one winners against a combative but limited Oxford Harlequins side at a sunny Whiteway.
Coach Matt Carter has worked wonders with a once notoriously slow-starting home side who were quickly into their game patterns to score two early tries.
Camped in the Quins half, Ciren will rue some isolated running which saw the ball turned over and the numerous overlap chances will surely be capitalised upon as the season progresses.
The ref was keen to keep the game flowing which favoured the hosts' expansive game and a third try came when advantage was played.
The inevitable injuries stacked up and the game had to go to uncontested scrums which favoured neither side.
The match then became dour and somewhat confrontational at the breakdown.
But some fine play in the backs created a fourth Town try.
With little time left on the clock, a botched clearance kick gifted Quins a consolation converted try.
