Lechlade FC 87 Res 1

Oaksey Reserves 2

OAKSEY RESERVES were made to work hard before consigning Lechlade to their sixth defeat in as many games.

Following the pattern of previous weeks, Oaksey dominated for long periods, played some good football and created lots of chances. But their poor conversion rate meant that the game was still goalless at half-time.

The visitors gradually wore Lechlade down in the second half and finally put distance between the teams with a well worked goal put away by Jordan Brooks.

This gave the side a boost and, playing with more conviction, Oaksey grabbed a second goal when Gareth Jones rounded the keeper to score.

A late rally by Lechlade, whose play and industry at times belied their position at the bottom of the division, brought them a goal which made the final 10 minutes a lot more uncomfortable for Oaksey than it should have been.

However, Oaksey stood firm and deservedly took the three points to secure their first win of the season.
