SWINDON ROBINS star Peter Kildemand suffered heartache in his bid to become a 2015 Grand Prix regular.

The all-action Dane could manage only eighth in the Grand Prix Challenge in Lonigo on a frustrating night.

Having raced to two convincing wins in his opening two rides, Kildemand appeared the early frontrunner as a strong line-up battled for a shot at 2015 World Championship glory.

However, a fall while chasing Chris Harris in Heat 13 curtailed his chances before he again hit the deck in his final ride, ending the evening on eight points.

It was ultimately not enough to challenge for a top three place, as Swindon asset Jason Doyle, British star Chris Harris and Slovenian Matej Zagar sealed qualification.

With Belle Vue man Zagar on course for a top eight finish in the 2014 series, Maciej Janowski also looks set to be a 2015 GP regular after he edged fourth place ahead of home favourite Nico Covatti.
