Oaksey 2

Lechlade FC 87 2

OAKSEY needed a late own goal to force a 2-2 draw with Lechlade but felt it was two points lost rather than one gained.

Oaksey made an unconvincing start but gradually began to take control with Ieuan Walton creating problems down the left. However, his fellow attackers failed to convert several scoring chances.

Meanwhile Lechlade had two first class scoring opportunities, one of which was spectacularly saved by 'Chappie' Trimble.

Lechlade took the lead on 52 minutes through Ollie Waite but this was short-lived with Oaksey equalising via Phil Hall, whose tap-in kept up his goal-a-game record. Yet again Lechlade took the lead as Waite lobbed the keeper from fully 40 yards out. Still Oaksey pressed but it was an unfortunate if eye-catching header from a luckless Lechlade defender that gave the home side a deserved equaliser.

It was good to see Toby Horton making a solid and impressive return after three years away and Sam Hainsworth put in his usual energetic 90 minutes.
