CRICKLADE triathlete Emma-Kate Lidbury finished in a respectable 20th place in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships at Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada over the weekend.
The finishing position does not match her previous best in the event – 10th in 2010 when it was held in Las Vegas – but she has endured a season troubled by injury.
The event was won by Switzerland’s Daniela Ryf.
Emma-Kate tweeted: “Not the result I wanted but pleased and proud.”
Lidbury, 34, who now lives in California, heads out to make her debut at the Beijing International Triathlon this weekend against a world class field.
