Cirencester League Div One
Highworth Development 1
Oaksey 3
OAKSEY, revitalised after the break, hit three second-half goals to turn this game around.
Playing down the slope the young Highworth side created more in the first half with Oaksey's stand-in keeper Kristian Trimble called upon to pull off some fine saves.
Highworth took the lead a minute before the break through James Best. A few moments earlier Phil Ryan had rattled the Oaksey woodwork with a blistering drive.
In the second half the visitors were a different side.
On 59 minutes, Phil Hall was on the end of the corner to equalise. Nine minutes later Hall provided the pass for Danny Pike to put Oaksey 2-1 ahead.
Bradley Wickson, who had a fine game, made it 3-1 with a blistering volley – great work after a fine passing move involving five players.
For Oaksey it was good to see veteran Paul Rose back in the fray while Scott Duffus, with somewhat less experience, is improving every week.
