FAIRFORD U12s, recently promoted from Division Four, claimed a good scalp when knocking Div Two team Liden out of the League Cup thanks to a terrific display of hard work and clinical finishing.

Liden went 1-0 up after three minutes from the penalty spot and Fairford had to work hard playing up the slope to contain the talented Liden front two.
Marcus Wynne made some vital stops in goal and the defensive trio of Adam Howard, Niall Cusack and Harvey Jones worked well as a unit with Louis Jones, Josh Mason and Callum Fiddler supporting from midfield.
The second half was a different affair as Fairford had the advantage of playing down the slope.
Jimmy Whiteman and Dan Ollson scored two cracking goals in the opening 10 minutes with new signing Gabe Knight coming on to dominate the midfield.
Debutant Alfie Taylor also came on for the second half and wrapped up the game with a tap-in third goal after Rory McConnel had joined in on the left.
