SOUTH AFRICAN Bradley Dial capped a brilliant first season in West of England cricket leagues with a match-winning knock of 131 for Lechlade against Gloucester City Winget on Saturday at the Manor Ground.

Already crowned champions – their second title in three years – Lechlade raced to an impressive total of 301-7 with Dial enjoying solid support from Arran Dickinson who hit 64.

In reply, Gloucester were soon in trouble and were skittled out for just 78 all out.

The damage was done by pace bowlers Michael Craigs (4-34) and Luke Sellers (5-41).

Lechlade player coach Sellers said: “This was a ruthless performance and a really positive way to end what has been a fantastic season.

“Bradley Dial once again showed that he is a truly top class player and we very much hope that he will be returning in 2015.

"The way he has adapted his game to English conditions has been very impressive. He is an outstanding talent who has got better and better as the year has progressed. He was well supported on Saturday by Arran Dickinson.

“In the field it was great to see the guys go for the jugular and show no let-up in trying to win the game despite securing the league last week.

“It has been another historic season for Lechlade and I would like to send my personal thanks to the players and committee at Lechlade for their support – it has been a real team effort.”
