England XI 222-5 (U Afzaal 39, A McGrath 74)
Slaughters XI 150-8 (T Williams-Ellis 69; Matthew Maynard 3-8)
The charity match against a Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) All-Stars side, which included Andy Caddick and Matthew Maynard, was part of a prize collected by the Slaughters women’s team for winning a Yorkshire Tea cooking competition.
The remainder of the prize was the installation of a new £10,000 kitchen in the clubhouse.
The former Test stars set a tough target of 222-5 and then reduced their hosts to 150-8 in the 20-over match, with Maynard taking an impressive 3-8.
Prior to the match the teams and guests had all enjoyed a five-course banquet, cooked in the new kitchen, followed by a question and answer session.
